Enso: harmony, everything, nothing, circle, moon, rice cake. Enso is a oft used image and concept in Buddhism. When I first started studying Japanese calligraphy and sumi painting with Kaji Aso in Boston, each session began with the repeated painting of Enso's putting one's whole body into the motion.
